Origin and Habitat
‘Moya’ is a cultivated Aeonium hybrid whose precise parentage is not reliably documented. Cultivated hybrids have no natural geographic habitat but inherit the seasonal growth characteristics of the genus. Aeoniums are succulent members of the Crassulaceae, with the greatest natural diversity occurring in the Canary Islands and surrounding Macaronesian region.
Description
Aeonium ‘Moya’ is a decorative collector hybrid grown for its colourful foliage and well-defined succulent rosettes. The fleshy leaves form dense rosettes that become increasingly ornamental as the plant matures and branches. Foliage colour can change significantly throughout the year in response to temperature, light intensity, water availability, and dormancy, making the plant particularly interesting as a container specimen.

Temperature: 10–25 °C; protect from frost.
Growth Rate: Moderate during the cooler growing season.
Soil: Use a porous cactus and succulent mixture with generous pumice for excellent drainage and root aeration.
Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing the growing medium to partially dry before watering again. Reduce watering substantially during hot summer dormancy.
Fertilizing: Apply a dilute balanced fertilizer occasionally during active growth.
Light: Bright filtered light to gentle direct sunlight. Good light encourages compact growth and stronger foliage pigmentation.
Pests and Diseases: Monitor for mealybugs, aphids, and scale. Root and stem rot can develop when plants remain excessively wet, particularly during dormancy.
Propagation
Propagate from stem or rosette cuttings. Allow cut surfaces to dry and callus before potting into a porous medium. Vegetative propagation is necessary to maintain the characteristics of ‘Moya’.
