Origin and Habitat
‘Evening Glow’ is a cultivated Aeonium hybrid rather than a naturally occurring species and therefore has no natural geographic habitat. It is associated in cultivation with the Asian hybrid commonly called ‘Fire Cloud’ or ‘Burning Cloud’. Its precise parentage is not reliably documented. It has been selected for its dramatic foliage colour and ornamental rosette form.
Description
Aeonium ‘Evening Glow’ is a colourful collector hybrid producing broad rosettes of fleshy leaves. Its principal attraction is the changing foliage colour, which can develop contrasting green, warm red, pink, bronze, or darker tones depending on season and growing conditions. Bright light and cooler temperatures can intensify pigmentation, while active cool-season growth may produce greener foliage. Mature plants develop an attractive branching habit topped with multiple rosettes.
