Origin and Habitat
Echeveria 'Purple Pearl' is a cultivated hybrid developed from species native to the rocky mountains and arid regions of Mexico. Like its parent species, it is adapted to warm, dry climates where it grows in mineral-rich, fast-draining soils with abundant sunshine. Thick, fleshy leaves store water, allowing the plant to withstand prolonged dry periods. Its compact growth habit and striking purple coloration make it a favorite for containers, rock gardens, dish gardens, and indoor succulent collections.
Description
Echeveria 'Purple Pearl' is a beautiful rosette-forming succulent growing 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) tall and 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) wide. The symmetrical rosettes are composed of thick, spoon-shaped leaves displaying soft lavender to rich purple tones with a powdery coating that protects the foliage from intense sunlight. Color becomes more vibrant when grown in bright light and cooler temperatures. During spring and summer, mature plants produce graceful flower stalks bearing bell-shaped coral-pink flowers with yellow interiors, adding seasonal interest to this elegant succulent.

Growth Rate: Moderate.
Soil: Use a well-drained cactus soil containing pumice, coarse mineral aggregate, and organic matter. Avoid heavy or poorly drained soils.
Watering: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering during winter dormancy and avoid water collecting within the rosette.
Fertilizing: Feed every 2–3 weeks during active growth with a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength.
Light: Full sun to bright indirect light. Bright conditions promote compact growth and enhance the rich purple foliage color.
