Pot Size: 3.5"
Accepted Scientific Name: Sedum takesimense ‘Atlantis’
Origin and Habitat:
Sedum ‘Atlantis’ is a cultivated selection of Sedum takesimense, a species native to coastal cliffs and rocky outcrops of Korea, particularly Ulleung Island. In its natural habitat, it grows in shallow, fast-draining soils exposed to wind, salt spray, and intense sunlight. This environment has shaped its tolerance to drought, poor soils, and fluctuating temperatures. The cultivar ‘Atlantis’ was selected for its striking variegated foliage and compact growth, making it an excellent choice for ornamental landscapes, rock gardens, and containers.
Description:
Sedum ‘Atlantis’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial growing 4–6 inches tall and spreading 12–18 inches wide. The rounded, scalloped leaves feature a vibrant mix of blue-green centers edged with creamy yellow margins that may develop pink tones in cooler weather. Foliage is thick and fleshy, forming dense, weed-suppressing mats. In summer, clusters of small, star-shaped yellow flowers rise above the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators while adding seasonal brightness.
