Pot Size: 3.5"

Accepted Scientific Name: Sedum ‘Firecracker’

Origin and Habitat:
Sedum ‘Firecracker’ is a cultivated hardy stonecrop selected for its intense foliage color and compact, spreading habit. Derived from species native to rocky regions of Europe and Asia, its ancestors evolved in well-drained soils with high sun exposure and limited moisture. These adaptations give ‘Firecracker’ excellent drought tolerance, cold hardiness, and resilience in poor soils. It is well suited to rock gardens, borders, and containers where bold foliage color is desired throughout the growing season.

Description:
Sedum ‘Firecracker’ is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial reaching approximately 4–6 inches in height and spreading 12–18 inches wide. The foliage is composed of small, rounded, fleshy leaves that emerge deep burgundy to red and intensify in color under full sun. In late summer, clusters of small, star-shaped pink flowers rise just above the foliage, providing contrast and attracting pollinators. The plant forms dense, colorful carpets that offer strong visual impact in landscape plantings.
