Echinocereus

Echinocereus is a genus of ribbed, usually small to medium-sized cylindrical cacti, comprising about 70 species native to the southern United States and Mexico. They are found from the coastal locations to mountainous areas usually in a full sun aspect. They have some of the largest and most showy of the cacti genre. Echinocereus can be solitary but often create large cushions or clumps. This can start went the plants are quite small so have an added bonus to the collector.
