It is commonly found in rocky, well-drained soils, where it endures extreme temperature variations and prolonged droughts. This species is well-adapted to arid environments, developing a deep root system to access scarce water sources.

Description:
Also known as the Argentine Saguaro, Trichocereus terscheckii is a large, columnar cactus that can reach up to 30 feet (900 cm) in height and 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter. Its thick, ribbed stem is covered in long, golden spines. In late spring to summer, it produces large, fragrant, white, funnel-shaped flowers that bloom at night.
