Pot Size: 2.5"

Accepted Scientific Name:
Haworthia truncata hybrid 'Araiso'

Origin and Habitat:
Haworthia truncata hybrid 'Araiso' originates from hybridization of the Haworthia truncata species, which is native to South Africa. These plants naturally occur in semi-desert environments, thriving in rocky crevices and well-drained soils where water is scarce. The species has adapted to arid conditions with minimal rainfall and significant exposure to sunlight. This hybrid inherits the resilience and unique characteristics of its parent species while offering enhanced ornamental appeal.

Description:
Haworthia truncata hybrid 'Araiso' grows to approximately 3 inches in height and 4 to 6 inches in width. The plant features distinct, thick, truncate leaves that are arranged in a compact, fan-like rosette. The leaves have a translucent, textured surface with variegated patterns of green and cream, creating an eye-catching appearance. Stress conditions, such as increased light, can enhance reddish or pinkish hues on the leaves. It may occasionally produce small, tubular white flowers that emerge on slender stalks, adding a delicate accent to the plant's bold structure.

Cultivation:
Zone: 9-11
Temperature: 18-25°C
Growth rate: Slow

Watering: Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, allowing it to dry out completely between waterings
Fertilizing: Once a month during the growing season
Light: Light shade, morning sun only
Pests and diseases: Vulnerable to mealybugs, aphids, and root rot if overwatered

Propagation:
Haworthia truncata hybrid 'Kyoto' can be propagated through offsets or leaf cuttings. For offsets, gently separate the pups from the main plant and plant them in well-draining soil. For leaf cuttings, let the cut edges callous before planting in a suitable soil mix. Keep the soil lightly moist until new roots develop.
