Pot Size: 2.5"

Accepted Scientific Name: Lithops karasmontana var. lateritia

Origin and Habitat:
Native to southern Namibia and northern South Africa, Lithops karasmontana var. lateritia occurs in rocky quartzite and sandstone plains where rainfall is sparse and irregular. Plants grow camouflaged among stones, often nearly indistinguishable from their surroundings. The lateritia form is particularly known for its brick-red coloration, blending into iron-rich gravels. Seasonal growth corresponds to local summer rains, followed by a dry rest period during which old leaf pairs are replaced.

Description:
This small succulent consists of paired, fused leaves forming bodies about 1–1.5 inches across and 1 inch tall. Surfaces are reddish to orange-brown, often with mottled markings. Autumn blooms produce daisy-like white flowers with yellow centers, opening in late afternoon and lasting several days.
