Pot Size: 2.5"

Accepted Scientific Name: Lithops bromfieldii var. GLAUDNAE

Origin and Habitat:
This variety is native to South Africa’s Northern Cape, especially in the Glaudina district where it inhabits stony flats and ironstone gravels. Rainfall occurs mainly in late summer to autumn. Its cryptic appearance allows plants to merge seamlessly with reddish-brown stones, providing natural camouflage against predators and harsh sun.

Description:
The plant forms paired, fused leaves about 1–1.5 inches across, displaying shades of reddish-brown to gray, often mottled with darker patterns. Flowers appear in autumn, bright yellow and daisy-like, often as wide as the plant body. The variety glaudinae is prized for its particularly strong coloring.

Cultivation:
Zone: 10–11.
Temperature: Best growth 18–27°C; tolerates down to 5°C when dry.
Growth Rate: Slow.
Soil: Requires pumice-based, highly draining soil.
Watering: Water sparingly in growth season, withhold completely when new leaves are replacing the old.
Fertilizing: Apply diluted fertilizer every 2–3 weeks while actively growing.
Light: Requires bright light to full sun for healthy form and coloration.
Pests and Diseases: Susceptible to root mealybugs and rot if overwatered.

Propagation:
Mostly from seed, occasionally by clump division.
