Pot Size: 3.5"
Accepted Scientific Name:
Echeveria agavoides ‘Lipstick’
Origin and Habitat:
Native to Mexico, Echeveria agavoides is commonly found in rocky outcrops and dry regions with well-draining soils. The ‘Lipstick’ variety is a cultivated selection prized for its striking leaf coloration. This species thrives in arid climates where it receives intense sunlight, minimal rainfall, and excellent air circulation. Adapted to store water in its thick leaves, it withstands drought conditions while maintaining its vibrant appearance. In the wild, it grows in clusters, forming dense, eye-catching mounds.
Description:
Echeveria agavoides ‘Lipstick’ forms a compact, symmetrical rosette up to 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter. The thick, pointed leaves are bright green with vivid red edges, resembling the shape of an agave. The red margins become more intense under strong sunlight. In spring and summer, it produces slender flower stalks reaching 12 inches (30 cm) tall, bearing small, bell-shaped flowers in shades of pink and orange, attracting pollinators like hummingbirds and bees.
