Origin and Habitat:
Native to the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, Agave guadalajarana grows on rocky volcanic slopes between 4,000 and 6,000 feet in elevation. The environment is semi-arid, with cool, dry winters and warm, sunny summers. Plants experience strong light and excellent drainage in native soils.
Description:
This small to medium-sized agave forms tight rosettes about 18 inches tall and 24 inches wide. The grey-green leaves are broad, short, and beautifully patterned with distinct bud imprints and dark brown teeth along the margins. It produces tall inflorescences up to 10 feet, bearing yellow flowers.
