Pot Size: 3.5"

Accepted Scientific Name: Aeonium ‘Godness’ Crested

Origin and Habitat:
Aeonium ‘Godness’ Crested is a cultivated form of an Aeonium hybrid, originally derived from species native to the Canary Islands. In its wild relatives’ natural environment, these succulents grow along rocky coastal slopes, volcanic cliffs, and dry grasslands. The climate features mild temperatures, ocean-influenced humidity, and infrequent rainfall. This crested form develops under genetic or environmental variation, producing a fan-shaped, sculptural growth pattern instead of a single rosette. It thrives in bright, airy conditions with excellent drainage and minimal water retention.

Description:
Aeonium ‘Godness’ Crested forms striking, undulating fans of small, overlapping rosettes that merge into a single, crested stem. The leaves are fleshy, spoon-shaped, and range from soft green to bronze-tinted hues depending on light exposure. The plant can reach 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) tall and spread up to 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) wide, creating a textured, coral-like mound. Flowers are rare in crested forms, but when present, they appear as small, star-shaped yellow blooms emerging from mature sections.

Cultivation:
Zone: 9–11
Temperature: Best grown between 10–25°C; protect from frost and freezing conditions.
Growth Rate: Moderate; slow during dormancy in summer.
Soil: Use a well-draining mix with pumice, perlite, and loam to prevent root rot.
Watering: Water moderately during active growth, allowing soil to dry between waterings; reduce watering during dormancy.
Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, diluted fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during growth.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial morning sun; intense sun may scorch foliage.
Pests and Diseases: Watch for aphids, mealybugs, and root rot. Maintain airflow and avoid excessive moisture around the base.

Propagation:
Propagate from stem divisions or cuttings from the crested sections. Allow callusing before planting in a gritty, fast-draining mix.
