Pot Size: 3.5"
Accepted Scientific Name:
Sedum 'Dazzleberry'
Origin and Habitat:
Sedum 'Dazzleberry' is a modern hybrid developed for ornamental horticulture, descended from hardy Sedum species native to the mountainous and rocky regions of Europe and parts of Asia. These species evolved to withstand drought, cold, and poor soils, thriving in full sun and gritty environments. 'Dazzleberry' was bred for its exceptional foliage color and prolific flowering, and it inherits the resilience and drought tolerance of its ancestors. It performs well in rock gardens, xeriscapes, containers, and perennial borders, particularly where drainage is excellent and sun exposure is ample.
Description:
Sedum 'Dazzleberry' is a vigorous, mat-forming groundcover that reaches approximately 6 to 8 inches in height and can spread up to 18 inches wide. Its attractive, smoky blue-gray foliage creates a dense, weed-suppressing mat. From late summer into early fall, it bursts into color with large, flattened clusters of vibrant raspberry-red flowers that can span up to 9 inches across. These blooms are long-lasting and highly attractive to pollinators, especially bees and butterflies.
