Polaskia chula is native to southern Mexico, particularly in Oaxaca and Puebla. It thrives in semi-arid and arid environments, often growing on rocky hillsides and dry forests at elevations ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters. The region experiences intense sunlight, warm temperatures, and well-drained soils, making it an ideal habitat for this species.

Description:
Polaskia chula is a columnar cactus that can reach a height of 8-15 feet with individual stems measuring 4-6 inches in diameter. The green stems are adorned with pronounced ribs and small clusters of spines. The plant produces small, pale yellow to white flowers, typically opening in the evening. The flowers give way to edible fruits that are small, round, and sweet.
