Accepted Scientific Name: Euphorbia polygona

Origin and Habitat:
Euphorbia polygona is native to South Africa, thriving in the arid regions of the Northern and Western Cape. It grows in rocky, well-drained soils and endures intense sunlight and infrequent rainfall. These conditions have shaped its highly drought-tolerant and uniquely sculpted appearance, allowing it to store water efficiently and adapt to its harsh environment.

Description:
Euphorbia polygona, commonly known as "Snowflake" or "African Milk Barrel," reaches 12–18 inches in height and 3–4 inches in diameter. This columnar succulent features sharply ridged stems adorned with rows of tubercles and occasional spines. The plant's color ranges from bluish-gray to green, often dusted with a powdery white coating. It produces small, cup-shaped cyathia flowers that are typically yellow to red and bloom near the stem's apex.
