Accepted Scientific Name
Echeveria ‘Morning Dew’

Origin and Habitat
Echeveria ‘Morning Dew’ is a hybrid succulent developed for ornamental purposes, drawing its lineage from species native to Mexico and Central America. These regions feature rocky, arid environments with ample sunlight and minimal rainfall. ‘Morning Dew’ thrives in similar conditions, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping or indoor collections. It is cultivated worldwide for its soft hues and striking rosettes, which enhance any garden or container arrangement.

Description
Echeveria ‘Morning Dew’ forms compact rosettes up to 5" in diameter. The fleshy leaves are a pale green to silvery-blue with a powdery coating that gives them a dewy appearance. In late spring to summer, it produces tall stalks bearing small, bell-shaped flowers in shades of yellow to orange.

Cultivation
Zone: Suitable for USDA zones 10–11.
Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 10°C and 30°C and should be protected from frost. Avoid temperatures below 4°C.
Growth Rate: Moderate, with the potential to form clusters over time.
Soil: Requires well-draining soil with pumice mixed into it or a standard succulent or cactus mix.
Watering: Water thoroughly, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering in winter during dormancy.
Fertilizing: Feed with a diluted succulent fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Do not fertilize during dormancy.
Light: Prefers full sun. Adequate light maintains its compact rosette shape and enhances coloration.
Pests and Diseases: Prone to mealybugs, aphids, and root rot if overwatered. Regular inspections and proper watering habits prevent most issues.

Propagation
Echeveria ‘Morning Dew’ can be propagated through offsets or leaf cuttings.
