Erioscyce- Neoporteria

Erioscyce is a genus of small to medium-sized cacti native to the arid regions of Chile and Argentina. These drought-adapted species thrive in rocky, well-drained soils and exhibit a range of stem shapes, from globular to cylindrical. Most species are covered in dense, protective spines that help reduce water loss and shield the plant from intense sunlight. Erioscyce is known for its striking flowers, which bloom in shades of yellow, pink, red, or white, often emerging from woolly areoles at the crown of the plant. These cacti are highly resilient, tolerating extreme temperature variations and long periods of drought. Their slow growth and unique adaptations make them a prized addition to xerophytic collections and arid landscape designs.
