Origin and Habitat:
Astrophytum myriostigma 'ONZUKA' is a cultivated variety of Astrophytum myriostigma, originally found in northeastern Mexico, particularly in the states of Coahuila and Nuevo León. It thrives in arid, rocky regions with well-draining soil and high sun exposure. The ‘ONZUKA’ cultivar was selectively bred in Japan for its distinctive, intricate white speckling and symmetrical ribbed form, making it a highly sought-after ornamental cactus.

Description:
Astrophytum myriostigma 'ONZUKA' is a spineless, star-shaped cactus with a compact, columnar growth habit, reaching approximately 4 to 10 inches (10 to 25 cm) in height and 3 to 6 inches (7 to 15 cm) in diameter. Its unique pattern of dense white flecks contrasts beautifully with the green body. The plant produces large, showy, yellow flowers with a silky texture, emerging from the apex in spring and summer.
